Machinery in agriculture

A great many changes have occurred during the past 70 years in the kind of power and the type of equipment used in producing field crops.

The use of humans and animals in agriculture in the past has been replaced by modern machines, efficient equipment and machines such as tractors have been developed.

Ploughing is to be done by tractor; sowing and putting of fertilizer by the drill; and reaping and threshing by the combined harvest-thresher and so on. The tractor will also send in transporting crops to markets.

In some regions changes human power to animal power and from animal power to mechanical power have been slow; in other regions they have been rapid.

Mechanical-power technology, together with other advanced production inputs and an increase in management knowledge, has helped to bring about major increases in agricultural productivity.

At the same time, their education in the drudgery of farm work, which is a feature of many types of mechanical-power technology.

The use of machines in agriculture modifies the way in which operations are performed by the farmers. Machines work faster and work accurately. Man by himself can produce only very little but with the help of machinery he can produce much more.

Machinery increases precision and accuracy as well as increasing the quality and quality of work.
